The streams and lakes surrounding Tanglewood Cabins are filled with beautiful mouthwatering fish, including trout, bass, bream, catfish and many other colorful species. Fishing in North Georgia is great year-round however, the best season is from late autumn to early winter. Whether you`re fishing the local streams or the lakes of Unicoi State Park, there`s plenty of opportunity to cast a line and make a catch. Maps of all the trout streams in the area are available from our office.

Professional and goofy golfers can enjoy a fun day on the greens! Pack your clubs and tee off at one or our local 18-hole championship courses in the beautiful Northeast Georgia Mountains. There`s a great selection of miniature golf courses in Helen for the whole family to join in the game.

Only minutes away you can enjoy the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains & the Chattahoochee National Forest on a guided trail ride through the scenic Sautee Valley, with experiences for all levels of riders.

Rock Climbing is a popular North Georgia outdoor sport and there are plenty of opportunities to harness up and enjoy the spectacular mountains.

There are many beautiful waterfalls & hiking trails within minutes from Tanglewood Cabins for nature lovers of all ages and levels to escape and enjoy the surrounds. Feel the cool mist from the falling waters, slide down the rocks, take in the breathtaking views from atop a mountain and enjoy endless vacation photo opportunities. Our cabins are only 8 miles from the head of the Chattahoochee River!

Whether you`re tubing down the Chattahoochee River through the heart of Helen, riding the wild waters of the Chattooga River or taking a pontoon sunset cruise on the lake waters, you`ve got plenty of chance to get wet and enjoy endless water activities!
